What we collect
Account
- Email address for authentication.
- Profile information: optional name and avatar.
Billing (paid plans only)
- If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details directly. We do not store your full card numbers.
- We store your subscription status to manage your plan and billing cycle.
App data you choose to save
- Summaries and comparisons you create. If you are signed in, these are saved to your account for future access. We do not store the original PDFs you upload; only the generated summary is saved.
- Testimonials you submit (quote, name, title) and avatar images if you upload one.
- DSAR workflow data, such as request drafts, status, and notes.
Technical
- Service logs to keep the service reliable and prevent abuse.
- Cookies and browser storage for authentication and preferences.
How we use data
- We use your information to provide and improve the service, including sign-in functionality, saving your content, and preventing abuse.
- When you request a summary, comparison, or document generation, we send the relevant text to our AI providers to process your request.
- We process payments and manage subscriptions for paid plans through Stripe.
- We display curated testimonials on our website after moderation.
- We send essential account emails, such as magic link sign-in messages and payment receipts. We do not send marketing emails unless you have opted in.
- We analyze aggregate, anonymized website usage data to improve performance and user experience.
AI summaries and accuracy
Sharing and processors
We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate DSARly. Below is a list of these providers and how your data may be shared with them.
- Cloud infrastructure providers for hosting, database, authentication, and file storage.
- AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) to power our analysis features. When you submit content for summarization, comparison, or document generation, the relevant text is sent to one of these providers. We do not share your account information or personal details with AI providers. The content you submit is not used to train AI models. See each provider's privacy policy: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google.
- Stripe for payment processing. If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe collects and processes your payment information directly. We do not store your full credit card details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data for cross-context behavioral advertising or with data brokers.
Storage and retention
- Account data persists while your account is active or until you request deletion.
- Saved summaries/comparisons persist until you delete them in the product or request deletion.
- Billing data (subscription status, Stripe customer ID) is retained while you have an active subscription and for a reasonable period after cancellation for accounting and legal purposes. Payment method details are stored by Stripe, not by us.
- Service logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
- Avatars you upload are stored at public URLs; deleting a testimonial or avatar removes future access, but cached copies may persist.
Your choices and rights
- Access/Download: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Deletion: Delete items in product (summaries, comparisons, testimonials) or contact us to delete your account.
- Correction: Update your profile name/avatar via your account provider or profile settings.
- Objection/Restriction: Contact us to limit certain processing.
- Do Not Sell/Share (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell personal information or share for behavioral ads.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and secure authentication. No system is perfectly secure; please contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in locations different from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region). Do not use the service if you are under the minimum age.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our service or legal requirements. We will post the updated date here and, where appropriate, notify you.
